How To Use Austro Ivermectin 6 mg?

Each Ivermectin Tab contains 6 mg Ivermectin, an anthelmintic agent available for oral administration. Austro pharmaceuticals are the manufacturer of Ivermectin tabs. 

It effectively treats river blindness (onchocerciasis) and threadworm involving the intestines (intestinal strongyloidiasis). Worm infections cause these conditions. 

In onchocerciasis, the worm infection mainly targets the skin, glands, and eyes. It causes changes to the skin that include an itchy rash, nodules, thickening of the skin, dark patches, or loss of elasticity. 

The worm infection can cause enlarged glands in the neck, armpit, or groin region. It can also affect the eye and may cause conjunctivitis, which may lead to vision loss. 

In strongyloidiasis, the worm infection mainly affects the intestines and skin. 

Symptoms of the infection include an itchy rash, diarrhoea, vomiting, and Stomach pain. Ivermectin improved the condition by killing the developing worms. 

The anthelmintic drug is also active against Sarcoptes scabies mite, which causes scabies. 

Scabies causes intense itching of the skin, particularly at night, accompanied by irritating blisters and lumps on the skin. 

The infection may occur between the fingers, the wrists, stomach areas, buttocks, scrotum, underarm areas, penis, stomach areas, and female breasts. Scabies can spread from one person to another via sexual contact, and transfer through clothing and furnishings is also possible.

Precautions (warning, allergy, things to remember)  

You must tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Your doctor will decide whether you can take Ivermectin tabs or not. 

Also, let your doctor know if you have liver diseases or have allergies to other medicines or substances such as preservatives, foods, or dyes. 

Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including those you get without a prescription. Some medicines may interfere with this anthelmintic drug.

Side effects of Ivermectin (Austro) 6mg

Tell your doctor as soon as possible if you do not feel well while taking Ivermectin 6 mg tabs. 

Although the medicine helps most people with river blindness, scabies, and threadworm infection, it may have unwanted effects on a few people. 

You must inform your doctor if you notice painful joints, worsening asthma, headache, fever, skin rash, dizziness, swelling of the eyelids, redness of the eye, fast heartbeat, swelling of the face, legs, ankles, or feet.

Ivermectin and Covid-19 Treatment

Ivermectin is currently being investigated in a clinical trial as a potential COVID-19 treatment for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Virus, which is the virus that causes COVID-19. The FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 infection in humans. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommend not to use ivermectin in patients with COVID-19 to reduce viral replication, except in clinical trials.

Experimental studies for ivermectin as an adjunct treatment for antiviral effects of hospitalized adult COVID-19 patients: a randomized multi-center clinical trial. There is currently insufficient evidence from the COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel to recommend either for or against the use of ivermectin in Covid-19 patients for the treatment of severe or mild COVID-19 symptoms.

Warnings

You will need to have a stool exam after taking ivermectin to make sure the infection is gone. Some patients may need to take another dose of ivermectin to treat the infection.

Ivermectin may make you feel dizzy. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Be careful going up and down stairs.

Before taking this medicine

You should not use ivermectin if you are allergic to it.

To make sure ivermectin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

• liver or kidney disease; or

• Cancer, HIV or AIDS, or other conditions that can weaken your immune system.

It is not known whether ivermectin will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.

Ivermectin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
